my bike is a temple

Bristol-based, Temple Cycles, have generously provided their Adventure Disc 2 to tackle the Transamerica Trail for Rape Crisis.

The Build:

Frame is TIG welded Reynolds steel for a strong lightweight bike with12mm thru-axle in slate blue. The steel here is endlessly recyclable, and studded with mounts to bring environmental and practical motivations together.

Group set is Shimano 105 57000, 11-speed. These high performance and widely available components means I’ll find parts in almost any bike shop I visit.

Wheels are Hunt 4Season, hand built and tubeless ready, with Schwalbe G 35mm tyres

Disc breaks are durable, while cable (rather than hydraulic) is easy and makes adjustments simple no matter how remote I am.

The Ride:

Handles like a dream. Just 10.4kg, it’s light enough to run up stairs with, and easily tackles hills with 22 gears. It feels durable and rides smoothly, with a gorgeous classic look. I can’t wait to see how it fairs over the next 4300+ miles :)
